Under-secretariat of Emergencies

We take care of the people of Buenos Aires affected by an emergency or adverse event by managing assistance.
We coordinate actions and policies that promote prevention, disaster risk mitigation and strengthening response, recovery and resilience.

Assist, guide and coordinate matters related to emergency situations and prevention of risks caused by natural and/or man-made disasters, in coordination with the connected ministries and agencies, within the scope of the Province.
Promote the development of technology and research applied to this area, through joint action with the academic scientific sector for risk management, both in mitigation and in alert systems and crisis management.
Device the operational mechanisms of the experienced body during the emergency, coordinating Firefighters and Police of the Province of Buenos Aires, Ministry of Infrastructure and Public Services, Ministry of Social Development, Civil Defense of the Municipalities, Volunteer Firefighters and other competent organizations, to guarantee assistance of the affected community and the restoration of essential services such as water, electricity, gas, toilets, communications, etc.
Fortify the zoning of the Civil Defense System and promote the decentralization of tasks related to the planning and coordination of the System.
Supervise the performance of the Provincial Lifeguard Commission.
