Under-secretariat of Citizen Engagement
Actions and missions
The Under-secretariat for Citizen Engagement created by Security Minister Sergio Berni in December 2019 works with the challenge of reinforcing community participation in the Comprehensive Security Plan and the Strengthening of Public Security in the area of the Province of Buenos Aires.
It works with the objective of recomposing the social fabric with the institutions of the Province in order to build a more inclusive citizen security network where not only security forums participate, but also manages to articulate the work with other actors in the community (entities of the civil society and socio-community organizations), and that also manages to incorporate new expressions of citizen participation (neighborhood assemblies, self-convened groups); ensure that the demands, information and proposals that arise from the various spaces and networks of citizen participation are translated into concrete public policies.
The comprehensive approach to these conflicts requires prevention strategies focused on community organization, multi-agency coordination and citizen participation.
The Undersecretariat for Citizen Participation grants a central place in its management to the design, implementation and evaluation of projects and programs for the prevention of crime and violence, seeking articulation with plans, programs and actions deployed by the Municipalities and the involvement of the local communities.
