Actions and missions

Plan police strategies to control crime and violence, in coordination with the Chief of Police.

Evaluate and supervise the collection and police and security information, and plan actions for the prevention and repression of crime in accordance with the security policies emanating from the Provincial Executive Power.

Coordinate tasks related to the processing, planning and analysis of situations related to citizen security.

Systematize the monitoring of the General Provincial Security Plan, detecting deviations and proposing solutions.

Coordinate and supervise the development of police strategies for the prevention and control of urban crime based on the Local Operational Program, within the scope of action of the Local Police.

Formulate and direct the implementation of general policies and strategies to support criminal investigation for the reduction and conjuration of complex crimes and organized crime.

Exercise the strategic coordination of the activity of the competent police bodies in matters of criminal intelligence and investigation.

Issue annually the Criminal Intelligence Process Orientation Directive, with the purpose of directing the intelligence activity carried out by the competent police bodies in the matter, establishing strategic priorities and indicating priority areas of investigation.

Integrate the Provincial Council of Public Security in the capacity of secretary, when so designated by the minister in accordance with Law No. 12,154.

Prepare joint action plans with other interjurisdictional police forces and National and/or International Security Forces, in accordance with their specific functions and competencies.

Plan the strategies for institutional strengthening and development of the bodies in charge of the scientific police function, as well as evaluate and control their implementation.

Promote the coordination of the competent bodies in matters of expert analysis and technical and scientific studies aimed at clarifying criminal acts. 13. Plan and direct the development of studies and research on organized crime and complex crime.

Promote strategies to strengthen state capacities aimed at investigating criminal markets and complex criminal organizations.

Design and direct policies, plans and programs aimed at institutional strengthening of the expert forensic capacities of the competent police bodies in said tasks. 16. Plan and coordinate strategic actions related to knowledge, registration, analysis and clarification of cases involving the disappearance of persons.

Define the annual income quotas for each of the police Sub-escalafones according to the vacancies provided for in the Budget Law, taking into account the planning carried out based on the evolution of the existing demand for incorporation in the territory of the province. of Buenos Aires, in coordination with the Undersecretary of Training and Professional Development.

Design and implement instruments that promote a harmonious development of the career of police personnel, based on the permanent improvement of the competencies demonstrated in the performance of their duties, in coordination with the Undersecretariat for Training and Professional Development.

Design and develop policies aimed at optimizing the articulation between the ministerial bodies and the bodies of the Judiciary and the Public Ministry in matters of relevant information, strengthening of police capacities to support investigation, institutional violence and human rights.
